The Macmillan English Campus (MEC) is at the cutting edge of such developments. It makes use of exciting new web technologies to deliver an innovative learning experience for both teachers and students.

You have really brought our project management up to a new level and everyone is really impressed with you and your work.

MEC required an experienced technical project manager to assist in establishing a full project management methodology for their online ELT products. Qaltic was able to create a suite of template documents and roll out tools to support an agreed set of development processes. Whilst rolling out the new methodology, Qaltic also worked with third party developers and testers to manage the relaunch of the internationally popular onestopenglish website. Additionally, Qaltic managed the introduction of a fully automated fulfilment storefront for Macmillan Practice Online web sales.

Programme management at the Medical Research Council

The Medical Research Council's Clinical Trials Unit is a centre of excellence for clinical trials, meta-analyses and epidemiological studies. CTU runs trials in a range of disease areas and specialises in trials in HIV/AIDS and cancer.

The ICT function within CTU provides desktop support and infrastructure enhancements for over 250 staff. With requests from research groups ballooning, Qaltic was brought in to assist in the creation of a sustainable programme of works consistent with the development resources available within the ICT team. Over the first six months, Qaltic was able to create an agreed programme and then manage the delivery in excess of 20 projects, ranging from a 300+ desktop PC replacement programme and business process automation systems to server upgrades.

Office fit-out and relocation for the National Institute for Health Research

The National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC) supports clinical research and helps to facilitate the conduct of trials and other well-designed studies within the NHS.

During early 2009 it was decided that the growing headcount at the London Coordinating Centre necessitated new facilities for the department. A newly refurbished office in Fitzrovia was identified and leased, and Qaltic was engaged to plan, assist with vendor selection and then manage the fit-out. The project required the creation of 5,500 sq ft of workable self-contained office space over two floors including office & meeting room construction, electrical and network installation and implementation of a full ICT infrastructure. Working with preferred interior design and networking vendors, telephony, internet and VPN solutions were delivered for up to 50 workers.

Website re-launch for eSpares Limited

eSpares Ltd is a client of Qaltic

eSpares Ltd is the UK's leading spare parts retailer, helping to find spare parts, accessories and consumables for all electrical appliances at home and in the garden. They can supply over 400,000 different products from over 500 manufacturers.

During 2008, Qaltic assisted eSpares to prioritise their programme of IT development projects. Qaltic then planned and managed the rollout of a new website, incorporating state-of-the-art third party search and Ratings & Reviews features. An important component of the re-launch was a usability study that identified a number of opportunities for further improvement to the customer journey prior to the public launch.

From humble beginnings, Cornwall in Focus has grown from a handful of pages into the vast repository of knowledge it is today. There are well in excess of 2,000 pages with distinct sections dedicated to every aspect of life in the Duchy of Cornwall.

Qaltic provides hosting & email, PHP and MySQL development services and maintenance for this popular destination website.

Building on the popularity of the original site, in mid-2010 Qaltic was commissioned to scope, deliver and provide on-going support for sister sites Devon in Focus, Dorset in Focus and Somerset in Focus.
